Who this policy covers

Elsewhere is a Crafted Tools project. This policy describes information used when you browse Elsewhere, create an account, plan work and life across places, or contact the project. Crafted Tools is your contact for questions about these practices. External opportunity providers and websites have their own policies.

Information you provide

Account information includes your email address, account name and sign-in information handled by our authentication service. Optional profile information can include your work experience, location, languages, preferences, professional links and constraints.

We process content you enter or save: opportunities, searches, plans, budget assumptions, application notes and drafts, community and mentorship contributions, messages, AI questions and feedback. You can use planning features without completing every profile field. Do not enter passwords, identity documents, confidential client work or unnecessary sensitive information into plans, messages or AI tools.

Why information is used

Information is used to provide account access, save and retrieve your work, enable the features you choose, respond to support and privacy requests, and maintain service security. Navigation activity, usage information and technical records help us understand use, diagnose problems and prevent abuse. Authentication and app preferences also use browser storage or similar technologies.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, service delivery relies on the requested service or our agreement with you; security, support and service improvement rely on legitimate interests where permitted; legal obligations and consent apply where required. A feature choice does not waive your privacy rights.

Visibility and sharing

Member-directory profiles are hidden until you choose to share them. Review the Profile visibility control before sharing. Its shared fields exclude income-floor, risk and physical constraints, budgets, saved plans and billing fields. This does not hide content you separately post in community or mentorship areas.

Messages are shared with their recipients; community contributions are visible in the areas where you post them. Account identifiers, including email addresses where used for messaging or author identification, may accompany these interactions. Administrators have account access and can review feedback, reports and information needed to operate and support the service. Private planning content is not a promise of confidentiality from service administrators.

Downloads and copies you share leave Elsewhere's access controls. Other people may retain messages or shared content they have received, even after you change profile visibility or request account deletion.

AI-assisted features

When you use an AI feature, your question and the context described by that feature are sent to AI processing services through our platform. The Advisor can include profile information, saved opportunities, plan summaries and linked listings according to its controls. Review those controls before sending: some are enabled by default. Earlier conversation content can remain in later requests even after you turn a context option off; clear the conversation to begin afresh.

The general Advisor conversation is not automatically saved as an app conversation record; you can download it. This does not mean processing providers retain no records. Some other AI outputs are saved with your plan or application. Do not assume AI requests are privileged, confidential, excluded from all provider retention, or suitable for sensitive records.

Service providers and international processing

Elsewhere uses Base44 for its application infrastructure and integrations. Providers supporting hosting, authentication, data storage, email, analytics and AI processing receive information needed to perform those services. Information may be processed outside the country where you live. Contact us for details about providers and applicable transfer safeguards before supplying information with special handling requirements.

Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to address abuse, protect rights, or resolve a dispute. Visiting a provider listing or contacting an external organization is subject to that organization's terms and privacy practices.

Retention: 12 months of inactivity

Our account-data retention policy is deletion after 12 consecutive months of inactivity. Inactivity means no sign-in or other recorded use of your account. Before deletion, we will email the address associated with the account so you can return to the service, request a copy of your information or raise a concern. Returning to use the account restarts the inactivity period.

During beta, inactivity reviews, advance notices and deletion are a manual operational process, not an automatic deletion timer. You may request deletion earlier by emailing info@craftedtools.app. Keep your account email current and retain copies of work you need.

Limited records may need to be retained longer for legal obligations, security, abuse investigations or unresolved disputes. Backup copies and provider-held records may follow separate retention cycles rather than being erased immediately. Copies held by message recipients or external organizations are not removed by deleting your Elsewhere account. We will explain relevant exceptions when handling your request.

Access, correction and account deletion

Email info@craftedtools.app for access, correction, export or deletion of your information, including account-deletion requests. Use your account email where possible and describe what you want us to do. Do not send passwords or identity documents. We may need proportionate verification before releasing or deleting data, and will explain any additional information needed.

Requests are reviewed manually; sending an email does not immediately delete the account. We will confirm the scope and completion of an approved request and explain any information that must remain. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or a complaint to your local data-protection authority. Applicable statutory rights and response periods are not limited by this policy.

Security and beta limitations

Account and access controls are used to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security. File uploads and stored-attachment downloads are paused during this beta. Keep original documents locally; the pause should not be interpreted as a guarantee that previously shared links or external copies have been revoked.

Report a suspected privacy or security issue to info@craftedtools.app without including other members' private data in your report.
